The National Emergency Management Agency has received another batch of 218 Nigerians who were assisted back from Libya by the International Organisation for Migration.
The returnees arrived at the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at about 3.44 am on Tuesday.
They were 46 female adults including seven pregnant women and five female infants; 161 male adults, two male children and male infants.
They were received by the South-West Zonal Coordinator of NEMA, Yakubu Suleiman, who stated that 8,129 people had so far been assisted back to the country by the European Union and the IOM in the ongoing phase of rescue mission.
Suleiman told the returnees to be champions of change in sensitising the youths against the urge to seek greener pastures through illegal migration.
He said the Federal Government was working on socio-economic programmes aimed at giving employable opportunities to the youths.
One of the returnees, Titilayo Kayode-Owojori from Ile Ife, Osun State, told journalists that she regretted embarking on the journey.
